Minutes of a meeting of the Community Services
Committee held on Tuesday, May 20, 1975, at 7 p.m.
in the Committee Room .at the Bowmanville Town Hall.

THAT the minutes of meeting of May 5, 1975, be adopted.

Social Mrs. Joan Higginson, President of the Newcastle Social Planning
Planning Council was present together with several other Officers to
Council discuss the air..ts and objectives of the Social Planning Council

Moved by Mayor Rickard, seconded by Con. Cowman
TRAT the Newcastle Social Planning Council be commended for their
vork and initiative, that their programmes be supported and that
Con. Cowman be appointed as liaison member of Council to attend
the Social Planning meetings when possible.

Newcastle Mr. Blaker and Mr. Adams of the Newcastle Lions were present
Lions relative to their proposed Swimming Pool and presented a cheque
Swimming for $40,000.

THAT the cheque for $40,000. presented by the Newcastle Lions
towards the financing of the Swimming Pool be acknowledged
and the necessary agreement be signed between Council and the
Newcastle Lions Club.
