SUBJECT: RESOLUTION #C- 441 -82
METHOD OF PAYMENT OF FEES RELATING TO THE USE OF
TOWN OWNED AND OPERATED RECREATIONAL FACILITIES
RECOMMENDATION:
1. That this report be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
For Council's information I would advise that the payment of rental fees
for the use of Town -owned sports and recreational facilities are handled
as follows:
Rental fees for Arenas, Fitness Centre, pools, fields with
flood - lighting are payable on a daily or monthly basis
depending upon the arrangements made with the user.
For example, organizations such as the Bowmanville Minor Hockey League use
the facility on an on -going basis and are invoiced for rental fees at
the end of each month. All accounts are mailed by the Community Services
Department, copies of accounts are forwarded to the Treasurer's Department
and all overdue accounts are followed up and collected by the Treasury
Department.

Other groups who wish to rent a facility for one day or for shorter periods
of time enter into an agreement for the use of the facility and are required
to pay the fees applicable at time of rental. These groups would include
the various schools using sports facilities, and local industries who
utilize Town facilities for recreational purposes.
For the information of Council, we have attached a copy of the 1982
Schedule of Fees as approved by Council during budget discussions.
