That this report be received; and 2. That Council adopt the following resolution: - "Council hereby approves the Department of Community Services request to hold the Annual Mardi Gras Parade and Soap Box Derby as outlined in the correspondane of July 6, 1982 attached to Community Services Report #CS -29 -82 and further directs that a copy of this report is to be forwarded to the Regional Police Force for appropriate action." BACKGROUND & COMMENT: These events have taken place on an annual basis as part of the Community Services Department Summer Playground special events program for the past number of years. The parade will begin at Central School and proceed east on Horsey to Temperance, south on Temperance to Wellington, east on Wellington to Division, south on Division to King, west on King to Silver, north on Silver to Central School. This event will conclude around 4:00 p. m. It would be appreciated if the Police Department could have a Constable on duty to direct traffic.
