MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 13, 1982
SUBJECT: Newcastle Village Lakefront "The Glen"
RECOMMENDATION:
1. That this report be received; and
2. That the Community Services Department budget forthe development
of "The Glen" as a picnic area in 1983; and
3. That Council authorize staff to initiate proceedings for taking
ownership of "The Glen ".
BACKGROUND & COMMENT:
Since receiving Mr. Cureatz's correspondence, staff has observed that this
area is used by local residents. The addition of garbage containers would
hopefully improve the aesthetics of the area.
The Registry Office has no record of ownership of the area known as "The Glen"
as stated in Mr. Cureatz's letter.
The Ganaraska Conservation Authority has been contacted with regards to the
above - mentioned subject and informed this department that they are not inter-
ested in developing this area.
