Minutes of a special meeting of Council held on July 27, 2012 at 10:30 a.m., in the
Council Chambers.
ROLL CALL
Present Were: Deputy Mayor W. Woo
Councillor R. Hooper
Councillor J. Neal attended the meeting at 10:32 a.m.
Councillor M. Novak
Councillor W. Partner
Absent: Mayor A. Foster
Councillor C. Traill
Also Chief Administrative Officer, F. Wu
Present: Municipal Clerk, P. Barrie
DISCLOSURES OF PECUNIARY INTEREST
Councillor Hooper advised that he has sought advice regarding this matter as his
band is playing at the Orono Fair on September 7. He has been advised that he does
not have a pecuniary interest in the matter.
COMMUNICATIONS
CORRESPONDENCE FOR DIRECTION
Resolution #C-241-12
Moved by Councillor Partner, seconded by Councillor Novak
THAT Correspondence Item D - 1 from Randy Cowan, Director, Orono Fair, be
received;
THAT the Orono Fair be declared an event of municipal significance in 2012 and all
subsequent years for the purpose of obtaining a Special Occasion Permit; and
THAT Randy Cowan and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario be advised
of Council’s decision.

CONFIRMING BY-LAW
Resolution #C-242-12
Moved by Councillor Hooper, seconded by Councillor Novak
THAT leave be granted to introduce By-law 2012-065, being a by-law to confirm the
proceedings of the Council of the Municipality of Clarington at a special meeting held
on the 27t" day of July, 2012; and
THAT the said by-law be approved.
