HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023-04-25ORONO DBIA APRIL 2023 Minutes April 25, 2023 @ 8:00 A.M. at Buttercup Hollow Present: Gavin Crabb, Julie Cashin-Oster, Frank Maitland, Scott Story Rick Ravary, Tammy Rendell, Diana Stephenson, Yvonne Maitland Also Present: Gavin Crabb called the meeting to order at 8:00 AM Declaration of Pecuniary Interest The Municipality of Clarington is situated within the traditional and treaty territory of the Mississaugas and Chippewas (chip-uh-WUH) of the Anishinabeg (uh- NISH-in-NAH-bek) known today as the Williams Treaties First Nations. Our work on these lands acknowledges their resilience and their longstanding contributions to the area now known as the Municipality of Clarington. Subject — Executive Meeting Discussed 1. — Gail Williamson has asked if the horticulture will be planting the stone boxes on the west side of the street. The BIA is in the process of replacing them with new boxes, so no flowers this summer. Gail has been advised. 2. - Rick Ravary has advised the planter boxes for the railing will be cedar and approx.. 4 feet long/ 2 feet wide/ and 8-10 inches deep. 8 units. Boxes to be place on both sides of the railing. **Scott Story to advise Rick Ravary re: liners so that he can start building the boxes. It is felt that it would be nice to have flowers visible from the road and the sidewalk. Second option was 8 feet long and one side. Garden Path to plant both hanging baskets and railing baskets. 3. — As a group we would like to have another meeting in regard to the banners and also to confirm that the Heritage picture is to be put back in. This is to be discussed next meeting.++ Please add to agenda for May. Wait on ordering banners. 4. - It has been requested by Aimie Harris to purchase the stone planter boxes and donate $100.00 to the BIA. Tammy confirmed she did not want them. It was a customer request. To speak with Marg Zwart, councillor, to confirm that the municipality does not want them back. 5. — the OCC has requested insurance coverage and confirmation that both events are sponsored by the ODBIA.
