SUBJECT: "NEWCASTLE FITNESS CENTRE - 1984 PROPOSED RATES"
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. That this report be received;;and
2. That Council approve the proposed 1984 rates for the
Newcastle Fitness Centre.
BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:
Rate increases for memberships and facility rentals reflect approximately
a five percent (5%) increase over the 1983 rates.
Please note that an adult off time MOO a.m. to 4:00 p.m. wee V days only)
facility membership has been introduced for the first time. We feel this
will encourage use of the facility during week days.
Also, please note we are recommending to reduce the Junior and Senior
Citizens memberships to fifty percent (50 %) of the adult rate. Memberships
in these areas have never been popular since the opening of the Centre.
Squashfees and public swimming fees reflect no increase. In surveying other
Municipalities,we find our rates are at par and in some cases even higher.
Changes for the Multi Purpose rentals reflect approximately a 10 percent (10 %)
increase.
