MEETING OF JUNE 6, 1983
1. That this report be received; and
2. That the Director and the Deputy Director of Community Services
attend a Management Symposium sponsored by the Ministry of
Tourism and Recreation to be held on June 21st and 22nd, 1983
at the Holiday Inn in Oshawa at no cost to the Town.
BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:
The seminar will provide an opportunity for senior management to meet and
discuss issues tailored to our specific responsibilities. It will provide
senior management an opportunity to look into the future and identify
other issues vital to our management responsibilities.
This initial forum for reviewing management strategies is designed specif-
ically for senior management teams who govern municipal recreation services
at the community level. The focus for the symposium will be on the
critical aspects of the manager's job, especially financial management,
policy development, decision making and administration in daily routine.
