That this report on the Darlington Sports Centre Soccer Pitch be received for information. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: The first soccer game was played on the new pitch at the Darlington Sports Centre on Sunday, June 5th, 1933. The teams involved were the Newcastle Wanderers and an Oshawa team. This is a regulation size soccer pitch. The Bowmanville United Senior Soccer Club will be using this pitch alternately between Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. The Newcastle Wanderers will be playing their games on Sunday evenings starting at 6:30 p, m. During the week days, Hampton and Bowmanville teams will be using this pitch. A regular schedule of games for this will be available very shortly. The Taunton Road Nursery, R. R. #1, Bowmanville were contacted to plant and maintain the following trees for one (1) year at a cost of ($3,445.00) and they are: 25 Silver Maples, 10 Shademaster Locust, 15 Austrian Pines, 15 Colorado Spruce and 20 Silver Birch, ../2 `fie � CS -06 -83 - 2 - Meeting of June 6, 1933 The trees were placed along the west side of the field in a creative fashion. Due to the inclimate weather the Department of Public t,!orks are unable to complete the ditching at the west side of the field. Respectfully submitted, /A
