Chris Borgal of GBCA is retained by the Municipality to conduct the peer review. The peer review includes an assessment of the HIA's recommendation for demolishing the Triple Dormitory building. The conclusions of the peer review indicated that the HIA and its recommendations are generally consistent with the directions outlined in the policies that apply to the site and what would be expected of such a report. The HIA acknowledges the importance of the Triple Dormitory and the implications of its loss but does not provide sufficient justification for its removal The peer review suggests the existing building be retained and integrated into the new development considering its significant historic heritage value. Committee members indicated the Committee had previously evaluated the property of Camp 30 as a whole, including the Triple Dormitory building. The property is significant to the community and Canada's history (designated as a National Historic Site). It is important to keep its integrity. 22.45 Moved by V. Suppan, seconded by S. Conway That the Committee agrees with the conclusions and recommendations of the peer review of the 2020 Lambs Road HIA undertaken by C.
