CS -03 -84 L SUBJECT: "LAST POST FUND" RESTORATION PROJECT RECOMMENDATION: 1. It is respectfully recommended that this report be received; and 2. That Council authorize Veterans Affairs Canada to proceed with their restoration project. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: Veterans Affairs Canada are establishing a restoration project for the Bowman - ville and Bondhead Cemeteries. This project would involved restoring the grave sites of war veterans buried in the above - mentioned cemeteries. (see attached letter) At the present time a number of crosses are missing and some need to be replaced because of their age and deterioration due to weather conditions. The restoration project, if approved by the Last Post Fund organization would be able to replace old crosses with new ones and to do a general clean -up of Veterans graves registered in both Cemeteries.
