Presently, the one -half ton trucks are being utilized by the incentive crews for the transportation of men and equipment to the Sidewalk and Brushing projects. The trucks are used eight hours per working day at the M.T.C. approved rental rate of $2.85 per hour. This rate includes all gas, oil, and repairs. At present, the trucks are subject to limited mileage and are considered suitable for continued low mileage use. Similar rental vehicles are priced at $525.00 per month and this rate does not include operating expenses. The incentive crews will be employed by the Town beyond the scheduled date for the Region's auction and it is staff's understanding that more incentive money is being made available for similar programs in the future. Therefore, it is recommended that the three one -half ton trucks remain in limited service until September, 1984. Respectfully submitted, R.G. Dupuis, P. Eng., Director of Public Works. pTG: jco August 18, 1983.
