MEETING OF JULY 3, 1984
SUBJECT: "STREAM BANK IMPROVEMENTS" (ORONO PARK)
RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose
and Administration Committee recommend to Council the
following:
1. That this report be received; and
2. That Council authorize the Orono Park Stream Bank
Improvements Project; and
3. That Council authorize payment for materials from the
Reserve Account #1100 -X -166 -6 to an upset limit of
$2,500.00
BACKGROUND & COMMENT:
During this past spring, the Orono Park stream experienced excessive
erosion along portions of its banks, making it unsafe for public use in
some areas.
The Department of Community Services in conjunction with Ganaraska Region
Conservation Authority have assessed the improvements necessary and
Ganaraska has provided plans for upgrading the stream banks (please find
attached).
As in the past, labour for the project will be provided by the Community
Services Department and can be accommodated through our current operating
budget. However, material costs for this project were not included in our
budget preparations as the problem did not exist until Spring of this year.
