REPORT TO THE NEWCASTLE COMMUNITY MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 4/85
SERVICES PLANNING BOARD
REPORT NO. CS -17 -85
SUBJECT: STATUS REPORT ON MASTER PLAN RECOMMENDATION
# 11, 12 & 13 as per Res. CSB- 245 -85
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the Newcastle Community Services
Planning Board receive this report for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Recommendation # 11
"That all self- organized activity groups and associations and all service
clubs.and benevolent societies identified in the resource inventory be
formally notified in writing of the initiation of the N.C.S.P.B. and that
they be requested to support the board as their forum for the expression of
concerns and ideas as well as for the development and implementation of
leisure services related plans ".
As part of our notification process to all tier one groups invited to attend
our Grant Application Workshop in September we have included a brief history
of the N.C.S.P.B. (copy attached).
Recommendation #12
"That all tier one groups be made aware that all future requests for funding
or other assistance from Town resources be presented in writing or by
personal delegation to the N.C.S.P.B. who shall make a recommendation with or
without modification of the request to Town Council ".

This has also been done. A copy of the letter of invitation and agenda of
the Grant Application workshop is attached.
Recommendation #13
"That any decision or recommendation of the N.C.S.P.B. may be appealed by any
tier one group upon making formal written request to Town council for a
special hearing ".
At the Sept. 18/85 Grant Application Workshop this will be explained to all
tier one groups.
