REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE
MEETING OF FEBRUARY 6, 1984.
REPORT NO.: WD -17 -84
SUBJECT: SEVERED LOTS ON HIGH STREET,
CEAN INVESTMENTS - PLAN OF SUBDIVISION
DEDICATION OF ROAD WIDENINGS
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended:
1. That this report be received; and,
2. That a by -law be passed by Council for the dedication
of Parts 1, 4, 8 and 9, Plan 1OR -1633, as public road
allowance; and,
3. That the law firm of Gardiner, Roberts be advised of
Council's actions in this matter.
REPORT:
One of the conditions of severance of lots on High Street in
the Cean Investments Plan of Subdivision was the dedication
of a 2.51 metre (8.23 ft.) road widening along their High 4
Street frontage. This widening will provide for a standard
sixty -six foot (66 ft.) road allowance centred about the
road centreline.

REPORT NO.: WD -17 -84
The road allowance widening has been deeded and registered
and the developer's lawyers have requested its dedication as
public road allowance. It is, therefore, appropriate for
the necessary dedicating by -law to be prepared and passed.

Dear Sirs: Re: Cean Investments re Severances
Our File 17- 35,124.
Cean Investments (Oshawa) Limited recently assigned a
"subdivision" agreement with the Corporation of the Town of
Newcastle to permit the development of two lots on High Street.
As part of that subdivision agreement, road widenings had to
be conveyed to the Municipality and we understand that you are
now in receipt of the appropriate deeds. We understand further
that partial cessations of charge will be forthcoming, or already
have been received by you.
Assuming, for the time being, that the deeds are
appropriate, we would ask that you place before Council the ne-
cessary by -law to assume these lands for road purposes.
Your co- operation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Yours truly,
GARDINER, ROBERTS
