CS -16 -85 SUBJECT: RECOMMENDATIONS: ENERGY AUDITOR 0-17 560 40 TEMPERANCE STREET BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO L1C 3A6 it is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. That this report be received. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: On Monday May 27/85 Council approved report CS -12 -85 authorizing staff to apply for Ministry funding through the Municipal Energy Auditor Program (M.E.A.P.) and tender for an Energy Auditor pending grant approval. Approval for the project was received from the Ministry on June 28/85 (please find attached). After receiving Ministry approval, applications for the position of Energy Auditor were accepted by the Community Services Department. A total of eight applications were received and four interviews were conducted by the Director and Deputy Director of Community Services. As a result of the interviews, Mr. Kevin Greene was awarded the position of Energy Auditor for a period of 1 year. Mr. Greene is a graduate of Mohawk l. College's Energy System Engineering Technology Program and has had previous 1 experience with the City of Etobicoke and District Municipality of Muskoka. ../2 Report No. CS -16 -85 Page 2. Mr. Greene will assume his position with the Municipality as of Sept. 9/85, and will report to the Community Services Department. On behalf of this Ministry and the Ministry of Energy our Minister has contacted Mayor Rickard, to inform council of the province's full support to your Energy Audit Program. The Town of New Castle will be eligible for a subsidy of $20,000 towards the hiring of an energy auditor. Upon completion of your hiring process and our receipt of the auditor's resume, the first half of the subsidy will be sent to you. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.
