CS -09 -85 SUBJECT: MARTIN ROAD PARK AGREEMENT, PART OF LOT 15, CONCESSION 1 RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. That this report be received; and 2. That Council authorize the Community Services Department to maintain the park as a passive park. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: The park was closed on March 18th 1985 and equipment removed at the request of East Woodbridge Developments Ltd. for anticipated residential development. It now appears that there are no immediate plans for residential development and a number of residents in the area of the park have requested that the park be available to the public until the developer is ready to build. Attached please find correspondence from Mr. Manias of East Woodbridge Developments extending our lease subject to the following modification: "It is understood that the leasing of the land for park purposes is only on a temporary basis and that the Town shall remove the equipment on the lands leased, within 5 days of a written notice by the land owner." Our department recommends continued grass maintenance of the park. However, due to the revised terms, we do not recommend reinstallation of the equipment. Respectfully submitted, Jan Devantier, R.D.M.R. Director of Community Services JD /sa Encl. t, rYft .o sc WDS .KI E.
