SUBJECT: SURPLUS EQUIPMENT - COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended to Council: -
1. That report no. CS -57 -86 be received; and
2. That the 1955 International tractor be retained by the Community
Services Department and not submitted to the Regional Auction.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:
The Regional Auction is coming up in September and as such staff have reviewed the
current Community Services Department fleet inventory.
Two major items are scheduled for the auction this year namely the 1979 Mott Mower and
the 1955 International Tractor. The Mott Mower will go to the auction as planned;
however, staff are requesting that the 1955 International Tractor be retained as part
of our inventory.
The intent was to move the 1977 tractor to Orono Park to replace the 1955
International Tractor. The small International is currently used to drag the two ball
diamonds, transport garbage cans etc. at Orono Park. The 1977 tractor was not used
extensively prior to this year. However, with the increased work load of our parks
division this year the 1977 has been used extensively for grass cutting with the bush
hog and staff do not expect the work load to decrease in the future.
