SLRECT: THE SALVATION ARMY'S REQUEST FOR RELIEF FROM THE
RENTAL FEE DUE FOR THEIR FUND RAISING DINNER MAY 10, 1986
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following: -
1. That Report CS -37 -86 be received; and
2. That the rental fee for the use of the Darlington Sports Complex on
May 20, 1986 by the Salvation Army for their fund raising dinner be
reduced to $100.00 to cover the staffing costs incurred; and
3. That Mr. Carson Elliott of the Salvation Army be so advised.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:
Attached please find a letter from Mr. Carson Elliott of the Salvation Army requesting
relief from the rental fee charged for their fund raising dinner May 10, 1986 at the
Darlington Sports Centre.
Staff have reviewed the staffing costs to the Town incurred because of the event. Six
hours of overtime was booked by one staff member for the event costing the Town
$99.64. The rental fee for the event is invoiced at $201.00.
It is recommended that the rental fee be reduced to $100.00.

Dear Mr. Devantier:
We held a fund raising dinner at Darlington Sports Complex on
May 10, 1986. Unfortunately, the dinner was there but the
funds were not.
Would you be kind enough to forego the rent for this event
in view of the facts. The event was not successful and we
regret this very much. Your staff Mr. Payne and Steve were
most helpful.
Please let me know if this is possible. Your co- operation
would be much appreciated.
