SUB,JECT: HOCKEY MEETING APRIL 29, 1986
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following:-
1. That report CS -27 -86 be received; and
2. That staff initiate a meeting with representatives from the Orono,
Newcastle Village and Bowmanville House Leagues and the N.C.S.P.B. to
investigate the possibility of a coordinated Town of Newcastle Hockey
House League; and
3. That staff report back to G.P. & A with developments.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:
Members of the B.M.H.A. Toros, B.M.H.A. House League, N.C.S.P.B. and staff met April
29th, 1986 to review Toro concerns that should be addressed in the new agreement
between the Town and the House League Committee for operating Town House League
Hockey. The concerns were addressed and the President of the current House League and
staff are in the process of drafting the new agreement which will be submitted to the
next G.P. & A. meeting.
Staff and the B.M.H.A. House League are now desirous of meeting with Newcastle Village
and Orono House League representatives to investigate the possibility of a coordinated
Town of Newcastle Hockey House League.
