That report CS -09 -86 be received; and 2. That the cost of the Haydon Hall well repair of ($836.66) be taken from the contingency account 7007 - 0298 -X -9. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: Last fall Mr. Wilbur Blackburn contacted the Community Services Department regarding problems with the Haydon Hall well. A substantial amount of fine sand had infiltrated the total plumbing system and water heater. After investigation and consultation with Faulkner Well Drilling, Harvey Partner and the Ministry of the Environment, it was concluded that this well was the deepest in the area and we would have no assurance that this problem would not occur if we drilled a new one. ../2 SCd General Purpose and Administration Committee February 17, 1986 Report # CS -09 -86 Page 2. According to Harvey Parnter he had resolved a similar problem by raising the pump intake and depositing a layer of gravel in the bottom of the well. It was decided to clean out the well and attempt the above procedure. Upon investigation it was found that some repairs were required and it was decided to proceed. I am pleased to report that this remedial repair was successful. No accounts available to draw on for such emergencies on Town owned buildings, until our Building Conservation Reserve Fund is addressed by Council. It is therefore recommended that the cost of this repair ($836.66) be drawn from the contingency account 7007 - 0298 -X -9. Respectfully submitted, t Jan Devantier, R.D.M.R., Director Department of Community Services JD *sa
