1. ONGOING MAINTENANCE
John Bate advised that Ron Stephenson, who has looked after the maintenance
of the Old Methodist, Trinity Anglican, Presbyterian, Mount Vernon Episcopal and
Advent Cemeteries has retired and moved out of the municipality. A letter of
appreciation will be forwarded to Mr. Stephenson.
Al Farrow has agreed to provide maintenance to the cemeteries that Ron
Stephenson was looking after. Maintenance of the Trull Cemetery will be done
by Shawn Cece and Roger Brown will maintain Nay/Staples Cemetery.
All of the signs for the cemeteries are in order and favourable comments have
been received from residents with respect to them.
2. HERITAGE WEEK
A request has been received from Angela Tibbles, Chair, Clarington Heritage
Committee to participate in Heritage Week, the third week of February. It was
agreed by the Committee to join with the Heritage Committee in recognition of
Heritage Week.
3. WORK PLAN
A tour of the cemeteries in the former Township of Darlington will be held on
Wednesday, June 20 leaving from the Municipal Administrative Centre at 4:30
p.m. John Bate will arrange for a bus. During the tour, the date and location of a
work meeting to clean stones will be determined.
