MINUTES
THE ORONO ARENA COMMUNITY CENTER BOARD
March 16, 2011
PRESENT: Gord Lowery Ray Bester
Wendy Partner Laverne Boyd
Elaine Dillon John Witheridge
ABSENTS: A second member from the Fair board will be
appointed in the near future.
CALL TO ORDER: by chair at 7: 36pm
Moved by Gord Lowery seconded by Laverne Boyd that we accept
the agenda as distributed.
Passed
Local Councilor Wendy Partner assumed the chair for the purposes
of holding an election for Chair and Secretary. Ray Bester was
acclaimed chair and John Witheridge was acclaimed secretary.
Ray Bester assumed the chair.
The minutes from the last two meetings were read:
Moved by John Witheridge seconded by Gord Lowery that: minutes
be accepted.

FINANCIAL REPORT
The total retained earning as of February 28, 2011 is $33,653.91
CORRESPONDENCE:
Jan. 19, 2011 Received a notice that there is an A.E.D. awareness
night at the Garnet Rickard Center today at 7:00 p.m. FILED
Jan. 24, 2011 Received from Patti Barrie CMO Clerk a notice that
she required the names of the Fair Board and O.A.A.A.
representatives on the 2011-14. Ray Bester replied with the names.

Feb. 1, 2011 Received a notice from Deputy Clerk
informing the Board that Local Councilor Wendy Partner is
representing the municipality.

BUSINESS ARISING:
The block wall of the compressor room has been repaired by the
municipality as of August.
A new hood was installed over the oven in the kitchen of the
recreation hall in late December.
NEW BUSINESS:
ARENA MANAGER'S REPORT
The lights in the arena where changed last October. The savings is
close to $6 300 over this period. We have also had many
compliments that the arena seems brighter and friendlier. This means
they should pay for themselves in about three years.
This summer's project is to repair the roofs over the front building and
the compressor room. This would be a very good time to replace the
25 year old compressor as there is a cost of removing it and replacing
it for the roof repairs.
The ice will be coming out of the arena on April 4t" this year.
Moved by Wendy Partner seconded by John Witheridge that: the
Managers report be accepted.
