SUBJECT:
NAMING OF NEW ARENA AND MULTI PURPOSE FACILITY
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose &
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:-
1. That report no. CS -15 -88 be received; and
2. That Council endorse forthwith the recommendation of
the Arena Project Team that the new arena and multi
purpose facility be name the "Bowmanville Recreation
Complex "; and
3. That the Skate 188 Fundraising Committee be thanked
for their contribution towards naming the facility.
BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:
Under the direction of the Arena Project Team, members of the
Skate 188 Fundraising Committee were asked to research and
select a name for the new arena and multi purpose facility for
recommendation to Council.
A number of names were discussed and considered by members of
Skate 188. The selection of the name "Bowmanville Recreation
Complex" was felt to allow a degree of latitude for future
consideration in naming specific components of the Complex.
