SUBJECT: CHERRY BLOSSOM PARKETTE - COURTICE
RECOMMENDATIONS:
it is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following: -
1. That Report CS -20 -86 be received; and
2. That staff be authorized to draw from the Courtice Lot Levy Reserve Fund
to an upset limit of $10,000. for land preparation at Cherry Blossom
Parkette forthwith.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:
In discussions with the developer Mr. Bill Roth, staff was informed that the park at
Cherry Blossom Crescent in Courtice would be turned over to the Town in a rough grade
condition and without topsoil. Funds were provided through the 1987 Capital Budget to
develop this parkette however, it was anticipated that the site would be prepared and
graded with adequate topsoil by the developer.
If this site is to be developed in 1987 it is imperative that staff be authorized to
draw from the appropriate reserve fund immediately, while the weather is still
conducive to planting grass seed.
