RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following: -
1. That Report CS -32 -86 be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:
Staff were requested by the Newcastle Community Services Advisory Board to schedule
a bus tour of recreational parks and facilities on the third Saturday of October and
June of each year.
In follow -up to this request such a tour has been planned for Saturday, October 17th.
The bus will leave the Newcastle Fitness Centre at 8:00 a.m. and return to the same
location by 4:00 p.m. A detailed schedule of the facilities and parks to be visited
is attached. Please note, that the tour is intended primarily as an orientation to
the various facilities and developments and as such, it is not our intention to
provide a detailed "walk through" at each site.
An open invitation is extended to the Mayor and Members of Council to participate in
this tour. Interested persons are asked to confirm their attendance with Community
Services Department by October 9th, 1987 in order to make appropriate bus and lunch
reservations.
