MEETING: Newcastle Community Services Advisory Board
DATE: APRIL 1, 1987
REPORT #: CS -13 -87 FILE #:
SUBJECT: WORKSHOP FOR TOWN VOLUNTEERS
RECOMMENDATIONS:
"HANDOUT"
It is respectfully recommended:
1. That Report # CS -13 -87 be received for information and direction.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:
Based on the discussion of Report #CS -11 -87 at the March 4th meeting the following
action has taken place:
1) The Bowmanville Lions Centre has been verbally confirmed for Thursday, May 14,
1987 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
2) The following resource people have been verbally confirmed for the above date:
a) Ministry of Tourism & Recreation (Wintario) Field Consultant (Note: Tom
Horlor will no longer be working for the Ministry at this time but promises his
replacement will attend).
b) Ministry of Citizenship & Culture Field Consultant - Ted Paget
c) Health & Welfare Canada (New Horizons) Field Representative - Marlis Lindsay
3) Mr. Ken Wyman and Mr. Greg Burns were contacted as potential session leaders for
the Fundraising session. However, both professionals believe the subject deserves
a minimum of three hours in order to be worthwhile for the participants.
Therefore, it is suggested that the topic of Fundraising be run as a separate
workshop possibly later in the year.
