BOWMANVILLE RECREATION COMPLEX
RENTAL FEES - MULTI PURPOSE ROOM
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose &
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: -
1. That Report No. CS -24 -88 be received; and
2. That the proposed 1988 -89 Multi Purpose rental
rates be approved (Attachment #1); and
3. That the Multi Purpose rental rates become
effective as of the opening of the facility.
BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:
With the opening of the Multi Purpose Room in the near future
staff has established rental rates for the multi purpose
component of our new complex. In determining these fees, staff
has canvased neighboring and local facilities (Attachment #2)
intending to establish our rates in a competative fashion.

In review, staff is recommending that the Town be responsible to
supply all bar services for any rentals, recognizing that Town
staff will provide added security during each event. It is
further recommended that the individual or group renting the
facility be responsible for obtaining any required licences and
all alcoholic beverages to be served during the event.

*New" Performing Rights Tariff - Licence to Play Music
Effective January 1, 1987 a tariff came into effect whereby
all functions that have music except weddings and charities
must pay a 'performing rights tariff'. These fees consist
of:
With Dance - $27.60 per function
Without Dance - $13.80 per function
In addition, it is the responsibility of the Recreation
Department in Pickering to forward quarterly statements to
P.R.O. Canada of all fees charged at various functions.
