MEETING: GENERAL PURPOSE & ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE
DATE: December 12, 1988
REPORT #: CS -31 -88 FILE #:
BOWMANVILLE RECREATION COMPLEX
MULTI PURPOSE FACILITY - EQUIPMENT
RECOMMENDATIONS:
it is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose &
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: -
1. That Report No. CS -31 -88 be received; and
2. That the Community Services Staff be authorized
to purchase forthwith the necessary equipment for
the operation of the Multi Purpose Facility; and
3. That the necessary funds be drawn from the
Community Services Lot Levy Account #1110- 0156 -X.
BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:
As members of Council are aware, the Bowmanville Recreation
Complex is now fully operational and requests are now being
received to rent the Multi Purpose Facility for a variety of
functions.
To date, the department has been accommodating these requests
by renting the required tables, chairs and maintenance
equipment. This practice enables staff to provide the
required services, however, the cost of renting the above
equipment is prohibitive and offsets any revenues the facility
is receiving.
