HomeMy WebLinkAboutCS-31-88TOWN OF NEWCASTLE REPORT File # jl.Z. 9, Res. # By -Law # MEETING: GENERAL PURPOSE & ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE DATE: December 12, 1988 REPORT #: CS -31 -88 FILE #: BOWMANVILLE RECREATION COMPLEX MULTI PURPOSE FACILITY - EQUIPMENT RECOMMENDATIONS: it is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose & Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: - 1. That Report No. CS -31 -88 be received; and 2. That the Community Services Staff be authorized to purchase forthwith the necessary equipment for the operation of the Multi Purpose Facility; and 3. That the necessary funds be drawn from the Community Services Lot Levy Account #1110- 0156 -X. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: As members of Council are aware, the Bowmanville Recreation Complex is now fully operational and requests are now being received to rent the Multi Purpose Facility for a variety of functions. To date, the department has been accommodating these requests by renting the required tables, chairs and maintenance equipment. This practice enables staff to provide the required services, however, the cost of renting the above equipment is prohibitive and offsets any revenues the facility is receiving. ../2 GENERAL PURPOSE & ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE REPORT NO. CS-31-88 With approval of the recommendations contained in this report staff will proceed with acquiring the following: 400 stacking chairs estimated value 10 5' folding tables estimated value 1 upright freezer estimated value 1 upright industrial vacuum estimated value 1 floor scrubber with charge unit-estimated value N" GRAND TOTAL (ESTIMATE) $33,000 1,500 1,500 1,500 3,000 $40,500 3,240 $43,740 The context of the report has been discussed with the Deputy Treasurer who concurs with the recommendation.
