TOWN OF NEWCASTLE REPORT File # / Res. # By -Law # GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION MAY 22, 1990 CS -17 -90 FILE #: SUB,ECT: COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT - OPERATIONS DIVISION 1990 FACILITIES & BUILDING SERVICES CAPITAL PROJECTS WORK PROGRAM RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose & Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:- 1. That Report No. CS -17 -90 be received for information. 1.0 BACKGROUND: 1.1 The purpose of this report is to advise Council of the proposed schedules (Attachment #1) for Facilities and Building Services, Capital Work Program which was approved following the 1990 budget deliberation. 2.0 COMMENTS: 2.1 As in previous years the majority of the work, will be contracted to outside forces. In such circumstances the completion of these projects are dependent upon the availability of contractors, availability of materials and their delivery dates. The attached schedule is a guide and variance may occur due to the above uncontrollable factors. 2.2 During the budget deliberations Council directed that the proposed Building Services Program be a subject of a further report and subsequently all work associated with the program ../2 901 REPORT CS -17 -90 - 2 - MAX 22, 1990 was delayed. Council has recently dealt with its concerns and approved the proposed Building Services Program. For Council's information the projects affected by the delayed decision are identified by asterisk ( *). Original schedules and completion dates have been adjusted to a new time frame as shown. 2.3 Staff are addressing all projects expeditiously with special attention to projects of previously identified urgency. At appropriate points during the year staff will advise Council through a further report of the status of the projects and any additional information which may become available.
