SLEJECT: SURPLUS ICE RESURFACER
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose &
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: -
1. That Report No. CS -45 -90 be received;
2. That Council authorize staff to make the surplus ice
resurfacer available forthwith to the Orono Arena Management
Board for use at Orono Arena;
3. That the Orono Arena Management Board be responsible for any
costs associated with the transfer and repairs to the
equipment; and
4. That the Orono Arena Management Board be advised of action
taken by Council.
1.0 BACKGROUND:
1.1 The Orono Arena Management Board has requested the use of
the surplus ice resurfacer currently stored at the Parks
Depot.
1.2 The machine does require some maintenance which the Board is
willing to accommodate.

1.3 The existing machine used by Orono Arena is a tractor driven
ice resurfacer which currently requires major repairs.
2.0 COMMENT:
Staff is confident this recommendation is in the best
interest of the Municipality and will ultimately lead to
stronger relationships with our volunteer agencies.
