Verbal Report from Mayor Mutton regarding Status of Community Action to Support ITER CONFIRMING BY -LAW ADJOURNMENT SUMMARY OF CORRESPONDENCE APRIL 25, 2003 CORRESPONDENCE FOR INFORMATION 1 - 1 John F. O'Reilly, Member of Parliament, Hal ibu rton-Victoria-B rock, advising Council that he is unable to attend the Special Council meeting. However, as Chair of Central Ontario Caucus, he has been in favour of the ITER Canada project from the very beginning and he continues to promote ITER Canada and support it. (Copy attached) (Motion to copy correspondence to all Durham Regional MPs and all individuals copied on the Mayor's letter dated April 22, 2003) 1 - 2 Gary Polonsky, President, University of Ontario Institute of Technology, advising Council that he is in support of Council's efforts in trying to convince the Government of Canada that it has a spectacular opportunity in bring ITER to Clarington. In fact, he places this on the top rung of such opportunities by far and remains flabbergasted that anyone would see it otherwise.
