REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE
MEETING OF MARCH 5, 1984.
REPORT NO.: WD -27 -84
SUBJECT: ROAD INSPECTION TOUR - 1984.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended:
1. That this report be received; and, 41
2. That the 1984 Road Inspection Tour be % rranged for
Thursday, April 12th and Friday, April 13th, 1984;
and that all Members of Council, and the Press, be
invited to attend; and,
3. That Members of Council advise the Public Works
Department of any areas of concern or particular
interest, before April 5, 1984, in order that they may
be included in the itinerary of the Tour; and,
4. That all costs associated with the Tour be taken from
the 1984 Public Works Budget.

It is usual for the Tour to be taken in the early spring of
the year when potential problems and spring break -up are
most evident. In the past, the Tour has been scheduled for
two days in order to cover the complete municipality. A
small bus or window van will be obtained by the Public Works
Department and the tour will commence each day at 9:00 a.m.
from the Police and Fire Building on Church Street,
Bowmanville. It is suggested that the Town Administrator
and the Public Works Department Secretary be invited to join
the members of Council on this tour.
In order that the itinerary can be prepared, Councillors are
requested to communicate any areas of particular interest or
concern to the Public Works Department not later than one
week in advance of the proposed Tour.
Members of the Press are cordially invited to join Members
of Council and staff in the 1984 Town of Newcastle Road
Inspection Tour.
