FOLDING ACCOUSTICAL PARTITION - COURTICE COMMUNITY COMPLEX
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration recommend to Council
the following:
1. THAT Report No. CS -07 -97 be received; and
2. THAT staff be authorized to proceed with the purchase of an Accoustical Folding Partition for
the Courtice Community Complex; and
3. That funds in the amount of $35,000 be drawn from the Parkland Cash -in -Lieu Reserve Fund
Acct. #5001 -7 -X
1.0 BACKGROUND
1.1 As members of Council are aware, the construction phase of the Courtice Community Complex
is nearing completion, and the Official Opening has been scheduled for Saturday, September
13, 1997.
1.2 With the anticipated opening of the Complex, staff are receiving numerous inquiries as to the
availability of the facilities for various programs and rentals by the private sector businesses and
general public.
1.3 It is evident, that if staff is to maximize the use of the Multi Purpose Room, it is appropriate
to consider the installation of a folding accoustical partition.
1.4 The Multi Purpose Room is designed for a capacity of approximately 200 people for use at a
licensed event. Without a partition, staff is limited with respect to utilizing the potential this
area of the complex has.
1.5 It is respectfully recommended that Council authorize staff to purchase the folding partition,
anticipating delivery and installation prior to the official opening.
1.6 The Treasurer has been consulted with respect to the potential funding source for this
expenditure.
