It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend
the following, FORTHWITH
1. THAT Report No. CS -24 -94 be received;
2. THAT Council acknowledge the Municipality's consent to extend the lease of Elliott Park
to Wednesday, August 31, 1994; and
3. THAT Council's decision be forwarded to the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority.
1.0 BACKGROUND:
1.1 As Council may recall, the Mayor and Clerk were authorized in 1993 to sign a one year lease
with the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority for the use of Elliott Memorial Park,
Hampton for municipal park purposes.
2.0 REPORT:
2.1 A letter has been received from Mr. W. M. Campbell, Chief Administrative Officer for
Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority (attachment #1) who advises that our
application for a long term lease is progressing but the short term one year lease needs to
be extended to August 31, 1994 to provide sufficient lead time for approval to be granted
for the long term agreement and have asked for Council's concurrence to extend the current
lease to that date.

The referenced matter is still before the Ministry of Natural
Resources and I have been advised recently that the submission package
has now passed all legal hurdles, but the agreement itself had
technically expired on April 30, 1994.
Rather than amend the agreement, the Ministry will accept a
letter indicating the mutual consemt of the Authority and the
Municipality to extemd the expiry date. I would suggest Wednesday,
August 31, 1994.
I will be placing this matter before the Authority on May 17th
and request that you kindly obtain the appropriate Municipal approval,
and confirm this with me at the earliest opportunity.
