Minutes of a meeting of the Newcastle Community Hall Board
held on April 24, 2007 at 5:00 pm in the Council Chambers.

INTERVIEWS FOR CUSTODIAL POSITION
Moved by S. DeJong, seconded by L. Franssen
That interview process be in camera. "Carried"
Regular meeting commenced at 6:45 pm
MINUTES
1.1 Moved by S. DeJong, seconded by B.Snowdon
That the minutes of March '07 meeting be accepted as circulated. "Carried"
BUSINESS ARISING
2.1 S. DeJong reported on defibrillator—it is to be tested the first Tuesday of each
month on the computer in the Historical Room. Contact John Bigelli for name of
contact at Bowmanville Health Centre to give presentation at our next meeting.
2.2 S. DeJong has spoken with Steve Ritchie of Lions Club regarding bartending.
Steve is going to a meeting on May 7 on Alcohol Liability. Secretary is also
attending this meeting so the bartending issue will be discussed in further at our
next meeting.
FINANCIAL REPORT
3.1 Moved by G. Robinson, seconded by B. Snowdon
That the financial report be accepted as circulated. "Carried"

That bills in the amount of$562.60 be paid as presented. "Carried"
CORRESPONDENCE/SUPERVISION
5.1 Supervision was allocated for May.
5.2 Discussed public announcement of Trust left by Irene Rinch
Moved by C. Trim, seconded by G. Robinson
That a public announcement regarding the Trust Fund not be made as Irene
was a very private individual. "Carried"
5.3 Fire alarm inspection received from Operations Department. To be discussed
with Director of Operations.
5.4 Notification from Operations Department that Concord Elevators has been
retained to do chair lift inspections. We will set up follow up inspections.
5.5 Letter from Skip Crosby regarding Recreation and Parks month received for
information.
HEALTH & SAFETY
6.1 Monthly inspection was not done.
NEW BUSINESS
7.1 Recommended changes/additions to our alcohol policy from Director of
Operations to be accepted.
