OPENING OF AN UNOPENED ROAD ALLOWANCE - BURKETON
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended:
1. That Report WD-41-87 be received; and,
2. That the request to open the section of road between Pine Street and
Darlington Street in Burketon, be approved, subject to the applicant
paying the cost of road construction and dedicating a sixteen foot
(16' ) road widening to the Town.

REPORT:
Mr. Ron Sucee owns the property on the west side of the unopened road
allowance which is situated at the north end of Darlington Street in
Burketon (see attached map for location).
Mr. Sucee is interested in opening the road allowance and building on his
property and has indicated that he is willing to dedicate the required
sixteen foot (16' ) road widening and to contribute toward the cost of the
required road construction.
The opening of the road allowance will improve access to and from the park
and general store as well as alleviate some of the awkward snow plowing
manoevers.
It is recommended that Council approve the request to open the section of
road between Pine Street and Darlington Street in Burketon, subject to the
the following conditions:
1. The applicant dedicate a sixteen foot (16' ) road widening to the Town;
2. The applicant pay for the cost of constructing the road to Town
standards and in accordance with Town policy.
