RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended:
1 . That Report WD-25-87 be received; and,
2. That the Bylaw 79-75 be amended as per the attached.

On October 6, 1987, Resolution GPA-908 was ssed requesting staff to

review the speed limit in Burketon and to report back to G.P.A.C.

During the review of the speed limit in Burketon, it was discovered that the
bylaw provides for a 60 km/h speed limit, however, Old Scugog is signed for
a 50 km/h speed limit.
A 50 km/h zone is deemed appropriate for this area and it is recommended
that Bylaw 79-75 as amended be further amended to eliminate the provision
for the 60 km/h speed limit through Burketon (see attached bylaw amendment) .

THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 87-
being a by-law to amend By-law 79-75
"being a by-law to authorize speed limits
on highways under the jurisdiction of the
Town of Newcastle" as amended.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE HEREBY
ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT Schedule "B" Part I to By-law 79-75 as amended, is
further amended by deleting the following reference:
