REPORT NO. WD-16-85
REPORT:
The Ontario Good Roads Association, in co-operation with
Sheridan College, is sponsoring a combination Loader/Backhoe
Operating and Upgrading Programme as indicated in the
attached correspondence to the Mayor and Members of Council .
These courses are considered excellent training for both
experienced and novice operators of road construction and
maintenance equipment. This is a very timely course offer,
j' as the 1985 approved Public Works Equipment Budget includes
the purchase of a replacement loader/backhoe. The course
content consists of both theory and practical , with
particular emphasis on good equipment maintenance
techniques, operating capacity and safety.
The costs associated with the course are eligible for normal
fifty percent (50%) M.T.C. subsidy.
It is, therefore, recommended that the Public Works
Department enroll an employee in the Ontario Good Roads
Association - Loader/Backhoe Upgrading Programme.
Respe fully su itted,
R.G. Dupuis, . Eng.,
Director of Public Works.
