OF DARLINGTON OUR FILE: DEV 87-71 v C~~ File # / e• `, ~~ ~ ~ ~" Res. # By-Law # RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. THAT Report PD-295-87 be received; and 2. THAT the application submitted by Kiddicorp Investments Ltd., to rezone lands to allow for the development of a subdivision be referred back to Staff for completion of the circulation process and a subsequent report. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: On September 18, 1987, the Planning Department received an application for rezoning of the above-noted property to permit the development of a subdivision. The subdivision application was received in April of 1987, and proposed 52 single family dwelling, 94 link or semi-detached dwelling and 144 townhouse apartments. This was later reduced to 88 links or semi-detached with the balance remaining constant. Due to the proposed subdivision's proximity to the Canadian Pacific Railway, a noise attenuation study was prepared with recommendations to minimize noise levels to the proposed subdivision. The Report submitted has not received comment from ...2 ~~~ REPORT NO.: PD-295-87 PAGE 2 the Ministry of the Environment to date, and due to the high noise levels affecting dwellings proposed for lands to be rezoned, Staff are not prepared to make recommendations on the rezoning application. Accordingly, it is recommended that the Report be referred to Staff for further processing of comments pertaining to the rezoning and subdivision applications and a subsequent report on same.
