RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is r•espertfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-222-87 be received for- information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
For• the information of the General Purpose and Administration Committee, Staff have
pr•epar•ed the attached list of applications to the Committee of Adjustment for- the meeting
of August 20, 1987. This list includes the file number, applicants name, site location,
type of variance requested, Official Plan Conformity, By-law Conformity, Staff's comments
on the applications and the Committee of Adjustment's decision.

APPLICATIONS:
A 58/87 - Isabel Graham, Lot 10, Concession 1, Bowmanville.
Application was made for relief from zoning by-law requirements in
order to permit the applicant to create a lot with a frontage of 65 ft.
(19.8 m), instead of the required 30 m frontage and an area of 4680 sq.
ft. (434 sq. m), instead of the required 1000 sq. m, with an existing
commercial building having a side yard of 3 ft. (.91 m)and a rear yard
of 22 ft. (6.7 m), instead of the required 10 m side and rear yard.
Roger Carr and Mr. Sleep appeared in support of this application. No
other person appeared in support of or in opposition to this application.
Moved by Mrs. Payne, seconded by Mr. Murdoch,
"THAT as the requested variance would not appear to
offend the intent of the Official Plan or Zoning By-
law and would not appear to have a detrimental effect
on the surrounding properties, permission is GRANTED
to create a lot with a frontage of 65 feet and an
area of 5000 sq. ft., with an existing Commercial
Building having a 3 ft. (.91 m) side yard. This
variance is conditional upon the lot having a depth
of 79 feet and the lean-to shed at the north being
removed."

Gardner appeared with concerns of water and septic within the area. Mr.
Mantle submitted a letter with concern to the drainage. No other person
appeared in support of or in opposition to this application.

"THAT as the requested variance would not appear to
offend the intent of the Official Plan or Zoning By-law
or have an adverse effect on the surrounding properties,
permission is GRANTED to construct an accessory building

is on condition that the garage door is not located on the
east side of the building abutting Park Street."
