WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Village of Newoastle has in accordance with the Municipal Act considered the estimates of the municipality and of the Boards and Commissions County 211r-lDoses Secondary School Elementary School Library General ]DUrposes $ 1 _7,2 AND WHEREAS the Assessment Roll made in the year 1969 and upon which the 1970 taxes are to be levied was finally revised bJ the Court of Revision, AND 'vv'H--,,REAS the amount of Assessment entitled to Benefit, Assessment entitled to Benefit (-Residential and Farm) 11 . ,e Assessment not entitled to Benefit (Commercial and Business) S -1 / L A1'TD WIHEREkS the Assessment of each of the bodies for �Fhich 7, it is necessary to levy rates is as follows.- Elementary School Separate School Residential and Farm Commercial and Business Total 81 Secondary School 1 e2, 14 z Z, � BY -TAW 70- 6 am -�-'ITD Iq7HEREAS the amount of the Unconditional Grant is which is the equivalent of Mills on the Assessment Entitled to Benefit: THEREFORE the Council of the CorpDration of the Village of Newcastle ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 'I That the estimates be a dopted and fhe following amounts be levied therefore in the manner as set out hereinafter County Purposes Elementary Schools Secondary Schools Library General Purposes A 3 20 There shall be levied and collected upon the Assessable lands, buildings and businesses within the Corporation of the Village of Newcastle the following rates for the year 1970. County Rate Secondary School Elementary School Library General Rate Consolidated Public School Rate Commercial & Business BY-L-AY 70- b M additional penalty of 1% shall be added on the first day of each calendar month thereafter in which default continues; but not after the end of the year in which the taxes were levied. 5® There shall be allowed a discount of 2% (not exceeding 6% per ann-=) on g any taxes so paid in advance during the current V C:' year® The above applies on the third instalment if paid on or before June 30-'L-1h, 1970, 6. The Collector is hereby authorized to mail or cause to be mailed the notice of taxes due to the address of the residence or place of business of the person to whom such notice is required to be given. 7. All taxes shall be paid into the office of the Collector. 8. Where a tenant of lands, o,;rned by the Crown or in which the Croihm has an interest, has been employed ether within or outside the municipality by the same employer for not less than 30 days, such employer shall pay over to the collector on d-errand OU41-1 014' wa"es, salary, or other ' remunerati on due to such employee the amount then payable for taxes under this by -law and such 'Payment shall relieve the employer from any liability to the employee for the amount paid. 9. The collector and treasurer are hereby empowered to accept part payment from time to time on account of any taxes due. 10. This by-law shall come into force and effect upon the date of the final reading thereof, READ a first and second time this d ay of 9 7 0 - READ a third time and passed this day of 1970.
