BY -LAW 73 -4
being a by -law to amend by -law
72 -5 regarding Annual Allowances
for Councillors.
WHEREAS the Municipal Act R.S.O. 1970 chapter 284, sec. 389 (1)
authorizes the courcUl of a municipality to pass by -laws for
paying the members of council such annual allowance as council
may determine,
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Village of
Newcastle enacts asfollows:
An annual allowance of one thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) shall be
paid to each member of Council and two thousand Dollars ($2,000.00)
shall be paid to the Reeve, and one -third of such amount shall be
deemed to be for expenses incidental to the discharge of his
duties as a Member of Council. These amounts to be effective
January 1, 1973.
By -law 72 -5 is hereby rescinded.
