Being a by-law to authorize the
sale of land
THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE VILLAGE OF NEWCASTLE
ENACTS THAT:
The land hereinafter particularly described as;
All and Singular that certain parcel or tract of land and
premises situate lying and being in the Village of Newcastle,
County of Durham, Province of Ontario, and being composed of
part of Village Lots Four (4) and Five (5), Block "Ell as shown
on a plan of the said Village of Newcastle made by C. G. Hanning,
P.L.S. being part of original Township of Clarke, now within the
limits of the said Village of Newcastle, the boundaries of the
said parcel being more particularly described as follows:
PREMISING that the bearing of the East limit of Mill Street
is North 16 degrees 00 minutes West and relating all bearings
herein thereto;
COMMENCING at a point in the Westerly limit of said Lot 4,
Block "Ell distant Northerly therein 168-13 feet from the South-
Westerly angle of Lot One (1), Block "Ell;
THENCE North 74 degrees 03 minutes 30 seconds East a distance
of 51-00 feet;
THENCE North 16 degrees 00 minutes West a distance of 31-78 feet
more or less to the point of intersection with a line drawn on a
course of North 74 degrees 09 minutes 40 seconds East from a point
in the Westerly limit of said Lot 5 which is distant 31.87 feet
measured Northerly in the Easterly limit of Mill Street from the
Point of Commencement.
THENCE South 74 degrees 09 minutes 40 seconds West a distance of
51.00 feet to a point in the Westerly limit of said Lot 5;
THENCE South 16 degrees 00 minutes East along the Westerly limits
of said Lots 5 and 4 being the Easterly limit of Mill Street, a
distance of 31.87 feet to the POINT OF COMMENCEMENT.
Containing by admeasurement 1623 square feet.
be sold to The Bell Telephone Company of Canada for the sum of
$17087.41 (One Thousand and Eighty-Seven 'Dollars and Forty one
Cents) and that the Reeve and Clerk are hereby authorized to
execute such documents as may be necessary therefor, and to
attach the Corporate Seal thereto.
READ A FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD time and finally passed this
