shall be provided with a sanitary type rotary seal and
shall be demountable for cleaning.
36. (1) When the agitation' of the milk is by com-
preMed air, the air before being used for this purpose,
shall be filtered to remove dust, insects, all extraneous
material and any source of ob'ectionable odours, and
shall be conveyed to the milk gy sanitary piping from
a point above the surface of the milk in the tank.
(2) The piping used to convey the air shall be de-
aligned to prevent siphoning or back flow of milk into
the air system.
TANS- TRUCKS
37. (1) No person shall transport milk from a farm
bulk tank except in a tank -truck having a tank with
an inside lining of stainless steel.
(2) No person shall operate a tank -truck for the
transportation of milk from a farm bulk tank except
a tank -truck equipped with
(a) an insulated, dust -tight cabinet constru+t
of -stainless steel for the of milk hose,
a pump and other equipment used in trans-
ferring milk from farm bulk tanks to the .tank-
truck, and
(b) an insulated dust -tight cabinet constructed
of stainless steel for the holdin of samples
of milk and a means by which ey are kept
Cool.
- (3) No person shall transfer milk from a farm bulk
dunk to a tank -truck except by means of hose.
(4) No person shall use hose for the transfer of milk
from a farm bulk tank to a tank -truck except hose
which has smooth surfaces, is readily cleaned is not
toxic and does not affect the taste of milk that comes in
contact with the hose.
38. No person shall be a tank -truck operator who

Your attention is drawn to Section 5, which deals with the
quality of milk which ' may be sold by ' a producer. In Section 5, sub (3
the.. expression is used INhere a producer has reason to believes -
it'was nece � sa ry t o use this expression because o f the wording in ,
the Act. Ile have been advised by our solicitor that a producer
would have reason to believe that the milk he produces fails to
comply with the standards, when he has been so advised by the dairy
or inspector. It is anticipated that the industry will recommend
that The Milk Industry Act be amended to allow the regulations to
deal more . specifically with the rejection of milk.
