HomeMy WebLinkAbout72-7THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF BOWMANVILLE By -Law No. 72 -7 To authorize the construction of a storm sewer on Prospect Street and OtDell Street WHEREAS the Council of the Municipal Corporation of the Town of Bowmanville deems it expedient and necessary in the interests of the future development of the Town of Bowmanville and for providing for the drainage of surface water from a substantial section of the Town; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Municipal Corporation of the Town of Bowmanville, pursuant to the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1970, Chapter 284, Section 352, Paragraph 16, hereby enacts as follows: 1. The Town of Bowmanville shall construct certain works as detailed in Section "A" attached hereto at an estimated cost of $42,000 of which an estimated amount of $21,000 shall be debentured. 2. The said work shall be constructed under the supervision and direction of the Town Engineer. 3. The Mayor and Clerk be and are hereby authorized to cause a contract for the construction of the said work to be made and entered into with some person or persons, firm or corporation, subject to the approval of the Council to be declared by resolution; and that the Mayor and Clerk be and are hereby further authorized to do all acts and sign all documents and affix the Corporate Seal of the Town thereto as may be necessary in connection with the making of contracts and other matters for the completion of the said undertaking or work. 4. The cost of the said work shall be raised by the issue and sale of debentures payable in instalments within twenty years. 5. The Treasurer of the Municipality is hereby authorized to make arrangements and sign any necessary documents to arrange temporary advances of money to meet the cost of the work pending the completion of the work and the sale of the debentures. 6. That the two readings given By -Law No. 71 -45, on the sixth day of December, 1971, be and are hereby rescinded. 7. This by -law shall not take effect until it receives the approval of the Ontario Municipal Board under Section 64(1) of The Ontario Municipal Board Act.
