By -Law No. 72 -11
To amend By -Law No. 67 -13, being a by -law to
prohibit the erection of wooden buildings or
wooden additions within the limits of the Town
of Bowmanville
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation pursuant to the provisions of Section
379(1) paragraph 32 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 19601 Chapter 249, enacted By -Law
No. 67 -13, to prohibit the erection of wooden buildings or wooden additions within
the limits of the Town of Bowmanville and;
WHEREAS Council now deems it desirable to amend said By -Law No. 67 -13;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bowmanville,
pursuant to the provisions of Section 354(1) paragraph 33 of the Municipal Act,
R.S.O. 1970, Chapter 284, enacts as follows:
Clause (1) of By -Law No. 67 -13 is hereby amended by the insertion, after
the word "them" in the first line, of the following words "with the
exception of boat slips, which protrude over water" so that Clause (1)
will now read as follows:
1. No buildings or additions to them, with the exception of boat slips
which protrude over water, shall be erected within the limits of the
Town of Bowmanville unless they conform to the following:;
All exterior walls, columns, beams and arches of non - combustible
construction and having interior load bearing walls, partitions,
columns, beams and arches of construction having a three - quarter
hour fire resistance rating and having the roof covered with a
non - combustible roofing material.
ENACTED and passed this 6th day of March, 1972.
