By -Law No. 72 -14
To regulate the closing hours of barber
shops in the Town of Bowmanville
WHEREAS certain owners of barber shops within the municipality of the
Town of Bowmanville have requested the Council of the Town of Bowmanville to
enact a by -law requiring the closing of all barber shops in the municipality
at the hours as hereinafter mentioned;
THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bowmanville enacts
as follows:
1. All barber shops shall open at 8:00 a.m. and shall close at 6:00 p.m. on
Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00 p.m. on Fridays and 5:00 p.m. on
Saturdays. All barber shops shall close all day Wednesdays and Legal
Holidays.
2. All persons violating any of the provisions of this by -law shall be liable
to a penalty not exceeding $300 exclusive of costs, the same to be
recoverable under the provisions of the Ontario Summary Convictions Act.
3. This by -law shall take effect on the day of the final passing thereof.
4. By -Law No. 1596 and all other by -laws inconsistent with the provisions of
this by -law are hereby repealed.
ENACTED and passed this 20th day of March, 1972.
