BY -LAW NO, 71 -31
To authorize the construction of certain works
as Local Improvements under The Local Improve-
ment Act
WHEREAS Council has declared it desirable to construct certain
works as set forth in Schedule "All attached 'hereto as Local Improvements;

AND WHEREAS it is the intention of Council to proceed with tl.e
work pursuant to Section 12 of The Local Improvement Act, R.S.O. 1960,
Chapter 223;
AND WHEREAS Council has obtained a Report in regard to the
works as required by Section 40 of The Local Improvement Act;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the flown of
Bowmanville hereby ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1, That the Reports obtained by Council in connection with the
works set forth in Schedule "All attached hereto, be and the
same are hereby approved and adopted.
20 That the works set forth in Schedule "A" and "B" attached
hereto shall be constructed on the streets between the
points astherein mentioned as Local Improvements under the
provisions of The Local Improvement Act,
3, That the consulting engineers for the Town of Bowmanville do
forthwith prepare plans, profiles and specifications and
furnish such information as may be necessary for the making
of a contract for the execution of the work,
4. That the work shall be carried on and executed under the
supervision and according to the direction and order of
the Town Engineer.
5. ThatIthe Mayor and Clerk be authorized to cause a contract
for the construction of the work to be made and entered
into with some person or persons, firm, or corporation,
subject to the approval of this Council to be declared by
resolution.
6e That the special assessment for each of the said works shall
be paid in twenty installments.
7. That any person whose lot is specially assessed may commute for
a payment in cash, the special rates imposed thereon by paying
the portion of the cost of construction assessed upon such lot,
without the interest, forthwith after the special assessment roll
has been certified by the Clerk.

The Board has approved of the above application and the formal order
of such approval will be issued in due course.
This should not be taken as approval to the form of any proposed
debenture by-law you may have filed.
`� It must be noted where certification of debentures by this Board is
requested, the debenture by-law must first be approved by this Board
under the provisions of Section 58 of The Ontario Municipal Board Act.
The debenture by-law should not be finally passed until the form of
been considered and approved by this Board.
N.B. This-approval is subject to compliance by you with all statutory
and other legal requirements related thereto. Every other
approval required by law and not yet received must be obtained
before the project is undertaken. A
