WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of

Bo,w7anville passed on September 19, 1966, By-law No. 1985, being
a By -law to amend By-law No.1959, a by-law to provide for the
payment of an annual allowance to the Mayor and members of Council;
AND WHEREAS Council has deemed it desirable to further amend
the said By-law No. 1959 to provide for an increase in the annual
remuneration paid to members of Council except the Mayor;
NOW THEREFORE pursuant to the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1960,
Chapter 249, Section 212 and Section 406, the Council of the Corp-
oration of the Town of Boi,,manville HEREBY ENACTS as follows:
1. That the Mayor be paid an annual allowance of one
thousand and five hundred dollars (31,500.00).
2. That the Reeve, Deputy Reeve and remaining members of
Council be paid an annual allowance of seven hundred
and fifty dollars ($750.00).
3. Such allowance shall be paid half yearly and in the
event of the death of a member, or upon his ceasing
to be a member for any reason before the expiration
of his term of office, the amount payable to him or
his personal representative shall be in proportion to
the period of his service during such term.
4. One-third of such annual allowance shall be deemed to
be for expenses incident to the discharge of his duties
as a member of Council.
5. The provisions of this By-law to be retroactive to
January 1, 1967.
6. That By-laws 1959 and 1985 and all by-laws at variance
with this By-law be and are hereby repealed.
